Greetings Maritime History Enthusiast!

Thank you for considering supporting the study and preservation of North Carolina’s maritime history, through the North Carolina Maritime History Council.  The North Carolina Maritime History Council has a diverse membership, which includes organizations as well as individual members from across North Carolina. 

Over the past 30 years the Officers and Board of the Council have created platforms for new and veteran professionals, hosted over 200 different professional presentations, published over 100 different professionally written papers, and we would love to have you join us as we continue into the future.  Your donations, membership fees and conference registrations help support the council’s study and preservation of North Carolina’s fading maritime history in multiple ways.

Support from members have enabled the council to accomplish a number of different projects over the years.  Recently, these projects have been aimed at not only preserving and studying North Carolina’s Maritime History but making it more accessible.

  • Relaunched the council’s website to feature more information about the different ongoing projects
  • Digitized the current issue of the Council’s unique professional publication Tributaries, with plans to digitize the archives in the near future.
  • Relaunching the Historic Boat Registry, with plans of digitizing the information
  • Featuring over 200 different new and veteran maritime historians at annual conferences since 1990.
